The full history of Habitat spans decades, set in motion with the construction of Kelowna’s very first liquor store back in the late ‘50s.
In 2004 it was re-discovered and used for the cultural Art and Music Festival, Duotone.
2005 saw the earliest incarnation of Habitat events. The space was a blank canvas for art exhibitions, fashion shows and local bands (Ladyhawk, Alpha Baby/Yukon Blonde, Black Mountain, and many more) came together to breathe life into the space.
It’s taken 8 years and hundreds of shows. We’ve put blood, sweat and tears to get where we are today. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Habitat is a unique concept: it is at once an entertainment venue for concerts, a meeting space for training or workshops, and a funky venue, downtown for private events. From concept to clean up we at Habitat have the passion and expertise to design custom events, for any occasion. Habitat also provides additional services such as fashion stylist, spatial stylist, event branding and graphic design. Allow our talented roster of bands, DJs, and performers add gusto to your event.

What Does Habitat Cost?
The Habitat space has the versatile capacity of a blank canvas, comfortably accommodating an intimate gathering from 75 people, or a function of 225 guests. Pricing functions on a sliding scale depending on which of our services your special event requires. Daytime events and non-profit organizations benefit from distinct pricing. Our staff would be pleased to arrange a consultation; estimates are also available through our web site.
