Dream Theater : nouveau clip du dernier album

Suite au départ du guitariste Alex Bois en juillet dernier,
Periphery a récemment annoncé leur nouveau guitariste : Il s'agit de Mark Holcomb.
Rassurez-vous, il a déjà fait ses preuves dans le milieu de la scène : Il joue déjà dans un des projets du guitariste Misha Mansoor,
Haunted Shores, et c'est également lui qui a remplacé Alex Bois lors de la dernière tournée du groupe !
Le groupe a également annoncé qu'il allait faire des dates avec les légendaires
Dream Theater , dont deux spectacle où ils allaient être têtes d'affiches !

Il semblerait qu'après une récente interview faite par le magazine Londonien "Daily Express",
Brian May, le guitariste de
Queen, a plus ou moins émis l'idée que Lady Gaga pourrait remplacer le légendaire
Freddie Mercury :
(May) " On aimerait bien faire des tournées mais il y a ce 'problème de chanteur' pour être honnête. On reçoit beaucoup d'offres pour jouer avec d'autres personnes. J'ai travaillé avec Lady Gaga, elle est très créative et c'est quelqu'un que nous envisageons pour chanter dans
Queen."
En effet May a récemment été le guitariste pour Lady Gaga lors d'une prestation aux MTV Music Awards.
Il y a expliqué qu'il y avait quelques options pour que
Queen puisse encore être un groupe d'actualité:
"Nous avons eu l'idée de faire des duos avec d'autres personnes et bizarrement ça m'a immédiatement interpellé. On a également discuté l'idée de faire une émission télé ou toutes ces stars invitées viennent. On s'est pas encore décidé mais on y pense toujours. Lady Gaga a dit qu'elle aimerait faire de la musique avec nous."

Mike Portnoy, membre fondateur et batteur du groupe de metal progressif
Dream Theater a décidé de quitter le groupe. Voici son (long) commentaire :
I am about to write something I never imagined I'd ever write:
After 25 years, I have decided to leave Dream Theater....the band I founded, led and truly loved for a quarter of a century.
To many people this will come as a complete shock, and will also likely be misunderstood by some, but please believe me that it is not a hasty decision...it is something I have struggled with for the last year or so....
After having had such amazing experiences playing with Hail, Transatlantic and Avenged Sevenfold this past year, I have sadly come to the conclusion that I have recently had more fun and better personal relations with these other projects than I have for a while now in Dream Theater...
Please don't misinterpret me, I love the DT guys dearly and have a long history, friendship and bond that runs incredibly deep with them...it's just that I think we are in serious need of a little break...
Dream Theater was always my baby...and I nurtured that baby every single day and waking moment of my life since 1985...24/7, 365...never taking time off from DT's never-ending responsibilites (even when the band was "off" between cycles)...working overtime and way beyond the call of duty that most sane people ever would do for a band...
But I've come to the conclusion that the DT machine was starting to burn me out...and I really needed a break from the band in order to save my relationship with the other members and keep my DT spirit hungry and inspired.
We have been on an endless write/record/tour cycle for almost 20 years now (of which I have overseen EVERY aspect without a break) and while a few months apart from each other here & there over the years has been much needed and helpful, I honestly hoped the band could simply agree with me to taking a bit of a "hiatus" to recharge our batteries and "save me from ourselves"...
Sadly, in discussing this with the guys, they determined they do not share my feelings and have decided to continue without me rather than take a breather...I even offered to do some occasional work throughout 2011 against my initial wishes, but it was not to be...
While it truly hurts for me to even think of a Dream Theater without Mike Portnoy (hell, my father named the band!!), I do not want to stand in their way...so I have decided to sacrifice myself and simply leave the band so as to not hold them back against their wishes....
Strangely enough, I just read an interview that I recently did that asked me about the future of DT and I talked about "always following your heart and being true to yourself"...sadly I must say that at this particular moment, my heart is not with Dream Theater...and I would simply be "going through the motions", and would honestly NOT be true to myself if I stayed for the sake of obligation without taking the break I felt I needed.
I wish the guys the best and hope the music and legacy we created together is enjoyed by fans for decades to come...I am proud of every album we made, every song we wrote and every show we played....
I'm sorry to all the disappointed DT fans around the world...I really tried to salvage the situation and make it work...I honestly just wanted a break (not a split)...but happiness cannot be forced, it needs to come from within....
You DT fans are the greatest fans in the world and as you all know, I have always busted my ass for you guys and I hope that you will stay with me on my future musical journey, wherever it may lead me....(and as you all know my work ethic, there will surely be no shortage of future MP projects!)

Durant une interview à The Pulse Of Radio, le guitariste/chanteur de
Queens Of The [1[Stone Age]], Josh Homme, a dit qu'une fois la tournée européenne de QOTSA, ils repartiront en studio pour enregistrer le sixième opus du groupe. Il a dit, "I have ideas already, absolutely. It's all about wiggling hips. The music is gonna go further down that strange and lovely path of (2007 effort) 'Era Vulgaris'. Dans un même temps, Homme a ajouté qu'il a espoir que le nouvel opus sortira en milieu d'année prochaine.

"I started writing with Mikael last month, finally," he said. "It's still in the very early days.
We wrote about 15 minutes of music last month in my studio near London and we're very excited about it.
I think people are going to be very surprised by the direction.
If they're expecting some kind of death-metal-progressive rock, they're going to be surprised [because] it's not like that."
If you put the two of us together, the last thing we're going to do is something similar to what people already know from our most high-profile project.
It's very arty, very ambitious; it's going to be epic.
We're still writing.[It's going to be] very dark, very twisted, very experimental.
It's still rock music, but we're trying to do something really, really special and really different with this."
Dans une interview en septembre 2009,
Mike Portnoy a déclaré a propos du projet :
"The three of us each mentioned wanting to work with each other years ago, and since then it's kind of been this rumor that won't go away. I think all three of us regret ever mentioning it at this point, but I think the hype or anticipation around it has surpassed anything we possibly could realistically deliver. So I think now all three of us are kind of hesitant to do it, because there's been so much hype about it. (laughs)
This is an example of where the Internet can somehow be a bad thing and I think... that's why I try to keep as tight of a lid on things as possible when we're making a record, because anything that is said or leaked or heard, it opens up this can of worms of discussion and once people start discussing and discussing and discussing and dissecting and anticipating, they build up such a level of hype and expectations in their
head that it's impossible to ever satisfy it. So that's one of the bad things about the Internet.
In answer to your question though, I think we'd love to work together, but at this point, we just don't know when."

Greg Mortenson, co-auteur du bestseller du parue à la première place du New York Times,
"Three Cups Of Tea" et nominé au prix Nobel de La Paix pour être l'un des fondateurs de
Central Asia Institute.
La fondation a pu ouvrir 130 écoles au Pakistan et en Afghanistan, pour éduquer plus de 51000 élèves lors de l'année 2008.

Black Clouds and Silver Linings, le 23 Juin via Roadrunner Records.
Le titre
"A Rite Of Passage" serra en téléchargement 24 heures à partir du mercredi 6 mai à 5 heures du matin sur
Roadrunner France.
L'album

Sorties d'albums
On peut découvrir un nouveau clip d'un titre extrait du onzième album studio du groupe de metal progressif Dream Theater, "A Dramatic Turn of Events", sorti en 2011.
Queensrÿche sortira son nouveau single, "Get Started", le 5 juin. Il sera disponible digitalement sur toutes les plateformes habituelles.
Queensrÿche vient d'être confirmé à l'affiche du Sweden Rock Festival, qui aura lieu du 8 au 11 juin à Sölvesborg dans le sud de la Suède.
Dream Theater et Black Country Communion viennent d'être confirmés au Bospop festival, qui se déroulera au Evenemententerrein Weert Noord à Weert, au Pays-Bas, du 8 au 10 juillet prochain.
